About the Production Company....

Since 1988 "Compagnia della Rancia" has been the most important musical Production Company in Italy.
Founded in 1983, the Company first devoted themselves to the production of dramas and then, throughout the years, they specialized in big musicals.
This choice originates from the passion of Artistic Director Saverio Marconi and from the will to fill a gap in the Italian theatre of the time, when the musical performances were rare.
Therefore "Compagnia della Rancia" proposes the most popular international titles entirely translated into Italian, thus favouring the spread of a genre, which, until then, was reserved to an elite of enthusiasts.
After having put on stage some of the most famous musicals and having run up a series of great successes, in 1997 "Compagnia della Rancia" in cooperation with "Musical Italia", launched the "Grease" project, the first long-running Italian show.
In few months and in only two cities, "Grease" beat all records of audience and takings, thus marking the beginning of a renewed interest in the musical in Italy. In the same period the Musical Village in Milan, the first theatre space entirely dedicated to the musical, was created. After that "Compagnia della Rancia" realized original musicals, such as "Dance!" and "Pinocchio", the show which has been compared by the critics to the grand musicals of Broadway.
The year 2003 marks the beginning of the cooperation between "Compagnia della Rancia" and ForumNet Group, which is first realized in the production of the musical "Pinocchio" and in the construction of "Teatro della Luna" in Milan -the new big theatre with such technical and structural features to stage the big productions of this kind - and then, in the introduction of "Compagnia della Rancia" into ForumNet Group.
"Compagnia della Rancia", besides producing musicals and education proposals (school-projects, masters and professional workshops), manages the Artistic Direction of "Teatro della Luna". Today "Compagnia della Rancia" has achieved specific competences in every stage of the production process of the live show, from the management of theatre spaces to marketing and communication activities, from sponsoring opportunities to ticketing and merchandising services.
Among the prestigious prizes awarded to "Compagnia della Rancia" we mention "Biglietti d'Oro - Agis", "Premio Fondi la Pastora/Protagonisti", "Premio per il Musical Bob Fosse", "IMTA" (Italian Musical Theatre Award) and the "Premio Tani per le Arti dello Spettacolo".
